The AMCREST NV4108E-B1276EW4-2TB NVR is designed for dynamic surveillance with several impressive features. It supports eight channels, recording video at resolutions up to 8MP, including formats such as 1080p, 3MP, 4MP, 5MP, and 4K. Users can enjoy playback options showcasing 8 channels at 1080p with 30fps, 4 channels at 4MP with 30fps, and 2 channels at 4K with 30fps. This NVR records in a widescreen format, and remote viewing is facilitated through a QR code access feature, compatible with both iOS and Android devices via the Amcrest View app.

The A2 Series cameras support AI capabilities, which enhance the overall system’s functionality. However, the AI features available directly depend on the model of the camera being utilized, as there are no integrated AI functionalities within the NVR itself.

Utilizing advanced H.265 compression technology, the device significantly reduces storage requirements while extending recording capabilities—maintaining UltraHD video quality without any compromise. The system can handle a maximum incoming bandwidth of 80Mbps, allowing recordings of up to 7 cameras at 4K resolution using H.264. By adjusting settings to H.265 and configuring a bitrate of 1792 for each camera, users can record 8 cameras simultaneously at 4K, optimizing performance.

The rich on-screen display (OSD) includes various icons for camera names, time, motion detection, video loss, locking status, and recording alerts. Users can configure multiple trigger and alarm events, incorporating features such as PTZ control, tours, video push notifications, email alerts, FTP options, and buzzer alerts. Additionally, custom recording modes like manual, scheduled, or motion detection, along with versatile recording intervals ranging from 1 to 120 minutes, provide tailored functionality.

This NVR comes pre-equipped with a 2TB hard drive, capable of supporting storage expansion up to 10TB. Note that some components may not align with NDAA compliance regulations.

Turning to the camera specifications, the model boasts 5MP resolution (2880 × 1620) with a frame rate of 20fps. Active deterrence is provided through a warm strobe light, alongside color event capabilities that switch between IR and warm light, offering night vision up to 49 feet and vibrant color night vision.

The built-in 2.8mm lens features an expansive field of view at 129° and includes a microphone for one-way audio communication. The dimensions of each unit are 7.57 x 2.77 x 2.61 inches, weighing about 1.1 lbs.

This camera system works seamlessly with Alexa via AmcrestCloud, although AI functionalities are not supported when used with this platform.
